The high-quality solution-dyed acrylic fiber from which SunPro fabric is made out of has been used successfully in the industry for over 30 years.
The fiber is produced through a special spinning, a process in which the pigments are injected into the polymer before being extruded into the fiber.
The result of this unique manufacturing pro- cess is a fiber with exceptional color retention, great mechanical properties, and excellent re- resistance to wear and weather elements.
Advanced Protection
SunPro fabric is treated with the Infinity process, a treatment technology designed to ensure long-lasting benefits. In this pro- cess, nano-particles in the finishing formula completely cover the surface of the fabric, forming an invisible and permanent coating. After applying the Infinity process, the surface and the inside of the fabric remain protected against the accumulation of dirt, dust, and other contaminates.
The low reactivity and high stability of the Infinity process provide the fabric with advanced and durable protection, especially against mold and mildew. In addition, the Infinity Process yields excellent water and oil repellence.
Lasting Protection
However, dust accumulation, particles of air pollution, foreign organic matter, and dirt in general, can damage this protection, shortening the life of the fabric and therefore must be eliminated.
The most effective method of maintenance is to clean the fabric once a month with a hose with light pressure, this prevents accumulation and penetration of dirt in the fabric.
It is very important that after cleaning with water let the canvas completely dry before rolling up the awning.
In case of rain, the awning can be left extended, since the rain helps rinse away the dirt. If for any reason the wet awning must be rolled up, unroll it as soon as possible and let it dry completely.
In times of continuous rains and strong weather it is advisable to keep the awnings rolled up.
If this periodic cleaning with water is performed, in most environments, it will only be necessary to do a more deep cleaning process every 2 or 3 years.

Internal testing proves that dimensional stability is two times better than other similar acrylic fabrics in the market.
Cleaning and maintainance
The accumulation of dirt and other unwanted substances on the fabric could damage the finish and cause accelerated deterioration of the fabric.
SunPro fabrics are very easy to maintain, by removing most of the dirt and dust with a soft brush, rinsing with water, and allowing the fabric to air-dry.
Superior solar protection
SunPro fabric is the best fabric option for protection from the sun. Its tight weave together with the quality of its fibers blocks up to 90% of harmful sun rays, reducing heat and glare.
Our fabrics comply strictly with the UV Stand- ard 801, a method of analysis to determine the UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor).
When it comes to awnings, the fabric strength, aging under sun, rain, humidity, and other weather conditions, reduces the capacity of the fabric for UV Protection.
Consequently, these factors should be taken into account when the fabric is tested to give a reliable UPF factor to avoid any risks for end-users.
